By Khaula Iqbal

Peshawar: In a vibrant display of civic responsibility, the Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa partnered with leading private universities to launch a Cleanliness Drive, transforming neglected city spaces into colorful landmarks.

Students and faculty painted the walls along Nasir Bach Road with creative artwork, turning the area into a lively visual attraction while spreading awareness about cleanliness and community ownership.

Architect Majid Khan said, “This initiative is not only about cleaning; it is about awareness, creativity, and identity. Color breathes life into public spaces and connects people with their city.”

Students echoed the sentiment. Hira Shaheryar said, “It’s more than painting a wall—it’s a platform to express creativity and contribute to society.” Imad Zareef added, “Through our artwork, we are giving Peshawar an identity and reviving its cultural spirit.”

The campaign reflects a growing movement among educational institutions in KP to promote sustainability, civic engagement, and the restoration of the city’s beauty.

The campaign emphasized the shared vision of “Stronger together. Cleaner tomorrow,” reinforcing the role of higher education institutions as catalysts for positive social impact beyond the academic realm.

Representatives from HERA and Private Chartered Universities Forum (PCUF) lauded the initiative as a model for collaborative efforts in promoting civic responsibility, sustainability, and awareness about environmental challenges.
