Peshawar: The first National Conference on Emerging Media, Artificial Intelligence, and Information Sciences concluded successfully in Peshawar, with a strong focus on “Youth in the Digital Era.” The conference provided a meaningful platform for discussion on truth, technology, digital responsibility, and the evolving future of media in an AI-driven world.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest, the Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Youth & Sports, Taj Muhammad Tarand, stated that the world is rapidly transitioning toward Artificial Intelligence and emphasized that Pakistani youth must harmonize with modern technologies to effectively face future challenges. He added that the provincial government is working on initiatives aligned with the needs of the digital era, particularly in the areas of youth development and technological capacity building.
The opening session highlighted the growing importance of academic forums that address Artificial Intelligence and emerging media, stressing their role in preparing students for contemporary professional and ethical challenges. The two-day national conference, held on January 29–30, 2026, was organized through academic collaboration with the support of relevant public-sector stakeholders.
The event witnessed strong participation, with more than 250 students from Peshawar and the Khyber District attending the conference. Students from various colleges and educational institutions took part, reflecting increasing youth interest in emerging media, Artificial Intelligence, and information sciences.
A special session titled “Understanding TTT: Truth, Technology & Tomorrow” focused on the ethical use of AI, the importance of truth in digital media, and the responsibilities of young people in today’s rapidly changing information environment.
The conference also featured keynote addresses by senior academics and technology experts, who emphasized digital literacy, responsible innovation, and collaborative efforts to empower youth in the digital age.
Senior government officials associated with youth affairs addressed the participants and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to education, technology, and youth empowerment.
One of the key highlights of the conference was a panel discussion on “Media, Youth & Digital Responsibility in the Age of AI,” which explored challenges related to misinformation, ethical journalism, and the social impact of Artificial Intelligence. The session was followed by an interactive question-and-answer segment, allowing students to directly engage with panelists.
At the conclusion of the conference, shields of acknowledgment and certificates were distributed among speakers, panelists, and student participants in recognition of their contributions.
