MANSEHRA: A three-day “Academic Writing & Critical Thinking Workshop” successfully concluded in the Smart Classroom at Hazara University, Mansehra, on July 5, 2026.
The workshop was organized by the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) alongside its partner institutions under the overarching theme, “Cultivating the Humanities & Social Sciences and Supporting Under-Represented Scholars of Asia.” The event was held in collaboration with several key partnering entities, including the Association for Asian Studies, the Centre for Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS), and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
The three-day training program drew active participation from faculty members, scholars, and researchers representing a wide network of higher education institutions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Participants were divided into six collaborative groups, showcasing diverse research presentations focused on regional socio-political, psychological, and technological dynamics.
The training workshop sessions were conducted by the LUMS facilitation team, which included Team Lead Dr. Furrukh Khan, Dr. Shabir, and Ms. Huda Imtiaz.
Speaking at the concluding session, Vice Chancellor of Hazara University, Prof. Dr. Ikramullah Khan, appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the attendees and commended the organizing team for successfully arranging the session. Vice Chancellor Dr. Khan reiterated Hazara University’s long-term commitment to supporting similar academic initiatives. He assured that the university will continue to actively promote academic excellence and expand opportunities for rigorous research and inter-institutional collaborations moving forward.
Dr. Furrukh Khan, the Team Lead from LUMS, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Vice Chancellor and the administration of Hazara University for their warm hospitality and excellent institutional arrangements throughout the three-day event. Dr. Furrukh remarked that the training proved highly beneficial for all participants. He expressed strong confidence that the collaboration between the partner institutions would continue to grow through future academic initiatives.
