Tokayev’s Islamabad visit signals Deepening Kazakhstan–Pakistan Partnership

Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Islamabad for his first state visit to Pakistan, a significant step forward in strengthening ties between the two nations.
President Tokayev touched down at Nur Khan Airbase, where he was formally welcomed by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, according to The Caspian Post, citing Pakistani media.
He is leading a high-level delegation comprising senior cabinet members and top government officials.
During his stay, President Tokayev is set to hold extensive talks with Pakistan’s leadership and deliver a keynote address at the Pakistan-Kazakhstan Business Forum, highlighting the growing economic dimension of bilateral relations.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office termed the visit timely and important, noting it provides an opportunity for a comprehensive review of relations. The discussions are expected to explore new avenues of cooperation, particularly in trade, logistics, regional connectivity, and people-to-people contacts, while also assessing joint efforts at regional and international platforms.
The Foreign Office added that the visit underscores the deepening partnership between the two countries, their resolve to turn historical and cultural ties into tangible cooperation, and their shared vision for peace, stability, and development across the region.
