Pakistan, Uzbekistan Agree to Expand Media and Cultural Ties, Plan Film on King Babur
ISLAMABAD:- Pakistan and Uzbekistan have agreed to significantly expand bilateral cooperation in the fields of media, culture, and film production following a high-level meeting in the capital.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, met with Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, to discuss joint initiatives aimed at strengthening ties between the media institutions of both nations.
According to a statement issued by the Uzbek Ambassador, the comprehensive discussions focused on mutual cooperation across film, television, digital media, and mass communications. A key outcome of the meeting was an agreement to initiate a joint film project dedicated to the life and legacy of the Mughal Emperor, Zahir-ud-Din Muhammad Babur, highlighting the shared history and cultural heritage linking Central and South Asia.

Additionally, both sides agreed to organize upcoming press tours to Uzbekistan for prominent Pakistani bloggers, journalists, and television representatives. The initiative aims to promote “New Uzbekistan,” highlighting its tourism potential, cultural heritage, and investment opportunities to the Pakistani public.
The meeting also touched upon enhancing professional exchange programs for journalists and creating institutional partnerships between the leading media networks of both countries.
