Mirziyoyev to Join Inaugural Peace Council Summit in Washington

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is set to attend the first official meeting of the newly formed Peace Council, marking Uzbekistan’s participation as a founding member of the international body.
The landmark session will take place on February 19 in Washington, where founding nations are expected to outline the Council’s future agenda and define its global role, The Caspian Post reported, citing Uzbek media.
Uzbekistan Among Founding Members
In January, Mirziyoyev signed the Peace Council charter, formally securing Uzbekistan’s status as one of the organization’s founding countries. The step highlights Tashkent’s expanding engagement in international diplomacy and peace-building initiatives.
The Peace Council was created at the initiative of former US president Donald Trump, aiming to provide a new platform for international cooperation and dialogue focused on peace and stability.
Participation Signals Growing Global Ambitions
As a founding member, Uzbekistan is expected to take an active role in shaping the organization’s priorities and programs. Mirziyoyev’s personal participation in the inaugural meeting underscores the country’s intention to broaden its diplomatic outreach and contribute more actively to global peace efforts.
Strengthening Uzbekistan’s International Role
Uzbekistan’s involvement in the Peace Council represents another step in its wider strategy to deepen international partnerships and reinforce its position as an engaged and responsible actor on the global stage.
