Kyrgyzstan Pushes for Visa-Free Access to UAE after High-Level Abu Dhabi Talks

Kyrgyz citizens may soon enjoy easier travel to the United Arab Emirates following high-level security discussions in Abu Dhabi that signaled progress toward a potential visa-free regime.
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev, met with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the Emirati capital, The Caspian Post reported, citing Kyrgyz media.
During the talks, Kasymaliev pointed to the positive impact of a memorandum signed last April on the mutual recognition of driver’s licenses, calling it a key step that has facilitated travel and strengthened bilateral relations. Both sides also highlighted successful cooperation in security matters, including efforts to tackle transnational organized crime, financial crime, and cybercrime.
Building on this cooperation, the Kyrgyz delegation expressed keen interest in the UAE’s advanced practices in digital policing, smart surveillance systems, and crime prevention technologies. Kasymaliev formally requested the UAE’s support in establishing visa-free travel for Kyrgyz citizens.
Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized the close ties between the two countries’ leaderships, describing Kyrgyzstan as a friendly and reliable partner. He said the visa-free proposal would be carefully reviewed and added that Emirati security experts could visit Kyrgyzstan to share experience and best practices.
