Pakistan, Tajikistan reaffirm commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation at SCO sidelines
Cholpon-Ata : Pakistan and Tajikistan have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation across key sectors, including economy, trade, industry, and energy, during a high-level meeting held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers session in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic.
The meeting took place between Tajikistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Muhammad Ishaq Dar.
According to official statements, both sides engaged in detailed discussions on a range of issues concerning bilateral relations and explored avenues to further enhance cooperation within regional and international frameworks, particularly under the SCO platform.
The leaders reviewed ongoing engagements and emphasized the importance of strengthening connectivity, economic collaboration, and institutional partnerships between the two countries. They also exchanged views on regional developments and underscored the need for coordinated efforts to promote stability and sustainable growth in the region.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both dignitaries reiterated their strong resolve to elevate Pakistan–Tajikistan relations to new levels, with a particular focus on expanding economic ties, boosting trade volumes, and enhancing cooperation in the energy and industrial sectors.
The interaction reflects the growing momentum in bilateral engagement between Islamabad and Dushanbe, as both countries seek to leverage regional platforms like the SCO to advance mutual interests and regional integration.
