Probiotics and Vegetable-Rich Diet May Slow Prostate Cancer Progression: New Study

A new medical study has revealed that a balanced diet rich in probiotics and vegetables may help slow the progression of slow-growing prostate cancer. Experts say that healthy eating is not only vital for overall well-being but can also have positive effects on certain types of cancer.

The research aimed to understand the link between gut health and prostate cancer. Scientists examined whether probiotics containing beneficial bacteria and foods rich in phytochemicals — such as leafy green vegetables and berries — could influence cancer growth.

Participants in the study were given various dietary supplements made from natural ingredients, including broccoli, turmeric, pomegranate, green tea, ginger, cranberry, and specially formulated Lactobacillus probiotics. According to the findings, more than 90 percent of the men experienced either a reduction in disease severity or a halt in cancer progression.

Researchers said this was the first study of its kind to provide clear evidence that maintaining a healthy balance of beneficial gut bacteria can slow the rate of prostate cancer development. They added that gut health could play an important role in cancer prevention.

Health experts cautioned that while the results are encouraging, prostate cancer patients should not rely solely on diet for treatment and should consult medical professionals before making any dietary or medical changes.
