Azerbaijan’s ‘Khojaly’ Cargo Vessel sets sail from Australia to U.S. with Major Steel Load

BAKU: Azerbaijan, The “Khojaly” Handysize dry cargo vessel of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company CJSC (ASCO), operating under the Azerbaijan Transport and Communication Holding (AZCON), has departed the Port Kembla in Australia en route to the Port of Los Angeles in the U.S., Trend reports citing ASCO.

Carrying 24,251 tons of steel, the vessel is expected to reach its destination by the end of next week.

ASCO stated that the “Khojaly” is currently sailing safely across the Pacific Ocean under strict security measures, with the voyage being carried out in full compliance with international operational standards.

Commissioned in China on May 27 of last year, the “Khojaly” features unrestricted navigation capabilities. The vessel has a deadweight of 38,593 tons, measures 180 meters in length with a 30-meter beam, a draft of 10.47 meters, and reaches a maximum service speed of 15.7 knots.
