Dust Storms and Rain Expected in Multiple Regions from June 13

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast significant weather changes starting from June 13, as moist currents penetrate the upper parts of the country.

A westerly wave is also expected to enter the region, triggering widespread weather activity over the coming days.

The impact will be felt across several areas, bringing a much-needed break from the intense heatwave gripping Pakistan.

Regions to Receive Rain and Dust Storms

Dust storms and rain-thundershowers, with isolated hailstorms, are predicted for Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan,

Murree, Galliyat, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, Battagram, Shangla, Kohistan, and Abbottabad from June 13 to 16, with intermittent gaps.

Islamabad and Rawalpindi are also included in the affected regions, along with cities in northern and central

Punjab such as Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot,

Narowal, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Toba Tek Singh.

Parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda, and southern KP districts like D.I. Khan, Waziristan, and Kohat will also experience similar weather conditions.

Southern Punjab and upper Sindh districts are expected to witness dust storms and thunder-rain during the same period.

Public Advisory and Expected Impacts

The PMD has warned of possible damage to weak structures such as electric poles, trees, and solar panels due to windstorms and lightning.

Farmers have been advised to plan their agricultural activities in accordance with the forecast.

The prevailing heatwave conditions are expected to ease during the spell, offering some relief to the general public.

Travelers and tourists are urged to stay informed and exercise caution while commuting in affected regions.
