PM Shehbaz, UAE Leadership Reaffirm Commitment to Regional Peace and Economic Ties

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held key meetings with the leadership of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during a day-long official visit to Abu Dhabi, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties and promoting regional peace and stability.

He was received by UAEโ€™s National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al-Nahyan upon arrival.
Later, he met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan to discuss mutual cooperation, economic development, and diplomatic collaboration.

Strategic Partnership and Regional Cooperation

During the high-level talks, both leaders expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral relations.

They emphasized the importance of maintaining close communication and cooperation in regional affairs.

PM Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistanโ€™s strong commitment to its partnership with the UAE and invited President Al-Nahyan to visit Pakistan.

The UAE recently supported Pakistan with a $2 billion debt rollover and has signed several MoUs in recent months to enhance bilateral engagement.

Strong Delegation and Mutual Interests

The prime minister was accompanied by a high-powered delegation including Deputy PM Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.

In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), PM Shehbaz thanked the UAE for its vital role in diffusing tensions in the region, particularly with India.

He praised the deep-rooted trust and cooperation between the two countries, especially in trade, investment, and expatriate relations.

The UAE remains one of Pakistanโ€™s largest trading partners in the region and a critical source of remittances.
