Mirziyoyev Heads to Ankara as Uzbekistan and Türkiye Push Deeper Strategic Ties

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will make an official visit to Türkiye on January 29 at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, signaling a renewed push to strengthen relations between the two countries.
The Ankara trip will include the fourth session of the Strategic Cooperation Council, co-chaired by both leaders, aimed at advancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Türkiye, according to Uzbek media reports carried by The Caspian Post.
Discussions are set to center on expanding political engagement, increasing bilateral trade, launching joint projects in key economic sectors, and enhancing transport links. The leaders will also review progress in cultural and humanitarian cooperation and exchange views on major regional and global developments.
The visit is expected to culminate in the signing of a broad package of bilateral agreements, alongside a series of joint events featuring both presidents.
