Japarov Issues Reprimands to Energy Minister, Investment Chief

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has imposed disciplinary measures on several senior officials, underscoring a firm approach to accountability within the government.
Under presidential decree No. 16, dated January 26, 2026, Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev was given a strict reprimand. The announcement was confirmed by presidential spokesperson Askat Alagozov, The Caspian Post reports citing Kyrgyz media.
Although the decree does not provide detailed explanations, the reprimand is said to be related to the “improper performance of assigned duties.” The action followed a memorandum submitted by the head of the department overseeing the execution of presidential and Cabinet decisions within the Presidential Administration.
Ravshan Sabirov, head of the National Investment Agency, also received a strict reprimand. In addition, Azamat Kadyraliev, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration and head of the department responsible for drafting presidential decisions, was issued an official warning.
