Kazakhstan’s President Visit in November to strengthen ties with Pakistan: Ambassador Kistafin

Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin, announced that Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will visit Pakistan in November, marking a key step toward strengthening economic and trade relations between the two countries.
He said both nations aim to boost bilateral trade to $1 billion within two years, with the potential reaching up to $14 billion. To achieve this, Joint Working Group (JWG) meetings will be held in September across six sectors — IT, agriculture, education, defence, trade, and tourism — to finalize agreements on trade and logistics.
The ambassador emphasized the importance of regional connectivity projects, urging Pakistan’s participation in the International North-South Corridor and the Trans-Caspian Middle Corridor, which would link Pakistan’s Gwadar Port to Central Asia, Europe, and beyond. He also expressed Kazakhstan’s strong support for the Pakistan-Uzbekistan-Afghanistan Transit Railway project.
Highlighting Kazakhstan’s digital transformation agenda, Ambassador Kistafin said President Tokayev aims to turn Kazakhstan into a fully digitized state within three years, prioritizing AI development, cryptocurrency adoption, and customs digitalization.
He added that Kazakhstan remains committed to regional cooperation, democratic transparency, and food security, while also organizing a major business forum in Karachi later this year to enhance partnerships in education, sports, and culture.
The ambassador concluded that Pakistan and Kazakhstan, given their strategic locations, are poised to play vital roles in regional trade and economic integration.
