
ISLAMABAD:President Asif Ali Zardari has congratulated Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and the people of Tajikistan on the country’s 35th Independence Anniversary, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations.
In a message to President Rahmon, Zardari said Pakistan attached great importance to its longstanding and fraternal ties with Tajikistan, rooted in shared faith, cultural affinities, common heritage and mutual trust.
He said Islamabad valued the steady expansion of bilateral cooperation across a range of sectors, including trade, energy, regional connectivity and people-to-people exchanges.
The president expressed confidence that Pakistan-Tajikistan relations would continue to deepen under President Rahmon’s leadership.
He said stronger bilateral cooperation would contribute to greater peace, stability, connectivity and prosperity across the region.
Pakistan and Tajikistan have maintained close political and diplomatic ties while seeking to expand economic, energy and connectivity cooperation between South and Central Asia.
