Pakistan, Uzbekistan agree to deepen strategic partnership and expand economic cooperation
Cholpon-Ata: Pakistan and Uzbekistan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership, enhancing bilateral trade, improving transport connectivity, and expanding cooperation in regional and international forums during a high-level meeting between their foreign ministers.
The meeting took place between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.
During the talks, the two leaders reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and agreed on practical measures to further deepen cooperation across a range of sectors. They emphasized the importance of expanding economic engagement, increasing trade volumes, and strengthening transport and logistics links to improve regional connectivity.
The ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to broadening coordination within regional and international organizations, underscoring the importance of closer collaboration in addressing shared regional challenges and promoting sustainable development.
The meeting reflected the growing momentum in Pakistan–Uzbekistan relations, with both sides expressing their determination to translate their strategic partnership into tangible economic and connectivity initiatives for the mutual benefit of their peoples.
