Uzbekistan Ambassador Meets President Asif Ali Zardari to Strengthen Bilateral Relations
Islamabad:— The Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev held a warm and substantive meeting with the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to taking Uzbekistan Pakistan relations to a qualitatively new level through practical cooperation, investment, and mutually beneficial projects.
The discussion focused on a number of key areas of common interest. These included the promotion of bilateral trade, the expansion of transport and logistics links, and the effective use of the ports of Karachi and Gwadar for regional connectivity and economic cooperation. Special attention was also given to the strategic importance of the Trans Afghan Railway project, which is expected to play a vital role in connecting Central and South Asia.

The Ambassador noted that the meeting reflected the strong political will on both sides to deepen cooperation in a more dynamic and result oriented manner.
“The meeting once again confirmed the common desire of Uzbekistan and Pakistan to strengthen their partnership through practical projects, investment, and shared opportunities. We are laying a solid foundation for a new stage of cooperation that is more dynamic, more practical, and focused on real results for our countries and peoples,” the Ambassador said.
The Ambassador also expressed confidence that the future holds great promise for both countries, with new opportunities, fresh projects, and even closer partnership for the prosperity of Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
The meeting marked another important step in advancing the friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan and highlighted the growing importance of regional connectivity, trade, and strategic cooperation.
