Mirziyoyev Heads to Japan for Landmark Central Asia + Japan Summit

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is scheduled to pay an official visit to Japan from December 18 to 20 at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
During the visit, Mirziyoyev will take part in the inaugural Central Asia + Japan summit, according to Uzbek media cited by The Caspian Post.
The program includes meetings and talks in Tokyo with Japan’s Emperor Naruhito, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, parliamentary leaders, senior government officials, representatives of political parties, and rectors of leading universities. Discussions will focus on further expanding and strengthening the strategic partnership and broad-based cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan.
The business agenda features meetings with executives from major Japanese companies and financial institutions, with talks centered on boosting trade and economic ties and advancing joint investment projects. A substantial package of bilateral agreements is expected to be signed.
Mirziyoyev will also attend the first summit of heads of state under the Central Asia + Japan dialogue framework. Participants are set to discuss cooperation in key areas, including the green economy and sustainable development, regional connectivity and partnership, and human capital development.
The summit is expected to conclude with the adoption of the Tokyo Declaration.
