ISLAMABAD: The iconic Picture Wall of Lahore Fort, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, came alive on Saturday, May 31, with colors, music, and celebration as it hosted the “Korea-Pakistan Culture Night” under the banner of the Eoullim Korean Culture Festival 2025.

The event was a vibrant collaboration between the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the Government of Punjab, and the Walled City of Lahore Authority, reflecting a powerful message of unity through cultural exchange.

Artists and audiences alike were captivated by the evening’s theme—”Echoes from History, Harmony through Cultures”—which brought together rich artistic traditions from Korea and Pakistan.

The historic venue served as the perfect backdrop for an immersive journey into the heart of two civilizations connected by mutual respect and shared artistic spirit.

Traditional Arts Take Center Stage

The program featured mesmerizing performances by traditional Korean artists including Ms. Sumi Pang, a celebrated sorikkun (Pansori singer), Daegeum maestro Mr. Sungjae Lee, and the energetic Samulnori troupe “Youheung.” The Pansori Ensemble “Harang-ga” also delivered soulful interpretations of Korea’s storytelling music.

Adding to the cultural synergy, the Pakistani national Taekwondo team performed a dynamic martial arts display, blending athleticism and tradition.

The Pakistani segment included melodious performances of Bansuri, Tabla, and Dholak, alongside classical Kathak dance and the spiritually charged Dhamal, which resonated deeply with the audience.

A Symbol of Cultural Unity

The highlight of the evening was the series of collaborative performances.

A serene duet between Korea’s Daegeum and Pakistan’s Bansuri left the audience in awe, followed by a powerful fusion of Korea’s Pangut and Pakistan’s Dhamal, symbolizing the deep cultural resonance and harmony between the two nations.

Such cultural diplomacy not only strengthens bilateral ties but also enriches the global narrative of peace through shared heritage and artistic collaboration.

The event left a lasting impression on attendees and marked a significant step in Korea-Pakistan cultural relations.
