Teenage Iranian Swimming Champion Killed Amid Gorgan Protests

A 19-year-old Iranian swimmer, Arnika Dabbagh, was killed by security forces during ongoing nationwide protests in the northern city of Gorgan, sources said on January 20, The Caspian Post reports, citing Iran International.
Dabbagh, a student and accomplished competitive swimmer, had won national titles in swimming competitions across Iran.
Her death has intensified attention on the unrest sweeping the country, underscoring the human toll of the continuing protests.
