Tokayev hails Christmas as symbol of unity and shared values in Kazakhstan

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has extended warm Christmas greetings to Orthodox Christians, underscoring the vital role of Orthodoxy in strengthening interfaith harmony and social cohesion across the country.

In his message, the president described Christmas as a bright and inspiring holiday that nurtures faith, hope and love, while reflecting enduring spiritual and moral values common to Christianity and other traditional world religions, The Caspian Post reported, citing Kazakh media.

He highlighted principles such as justice, mercy, responsibility, kindness and harmony as core values that unite society.

President Tokayev noted that Orthodoxy makes a meaningful contribution to promoting mutual understanding among different faiths and plays an important role in educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism, diligence and respect for family traditions.

Emphasizing that unity, solidarity and mutual assistance remain central to Kazakhstan’s state policy, he said these principles underpin the country’s achievements. Mutual respect, trust and compassion, he added, will enable society to continue moving confidently toward justice and progress.

The president concluded by wishing Orthodox believers and all citizens of Kazakhstan good health, success and prosperity, expressing hope that peace and well-being will prevail in every home.
