Kyrgyzstan Launches 63 Agro-Industrial Facilities, Strengthening Food Sector in 2025

Kyrgyzstan commissioned 63 new facilities in 2025 under its agro-industrial development program, with a focus on agricultural product processing and trade-logistics infrastructure.
The projects include trade-logistics centers and enterprises for processing grains, fruits, berries, vegetables, dairy products, meat, fish, wool, and vegetable oils, as well as organic production facilities, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.
These initiatives generated 2,707 new jobs, supporting regional development, increasing employment, and reinforcing the country’s agro-industrial capacity. Between January and November 2025, the food industry accounted for 17.4 per cent of total industrial output.
Preliminary figures indicate that agro-industrial enterprises produced food products worth 94.2 billion soms ($7.876 billion) during the first 11 months of the year, with a physical volume index of 127.8 per cent, reflecting robust growth.
Under the national development program through 2030, Kyrgyzstan plans to commission 385 agro-processing enterprises to raise the processing rate to 25 per cent. Total investment in the sector is projected at 20.96 billion soms ($1.752 billion).
In 2026 alone, 75 new processing enterprises are planned, with expected investments of 9.1 billion soms ($760.909 million). The Ministry of Agriculture said comprehensive efforts will continue to meet the targets and ensure sustained growth of the agro-industrial sector.
