Kazakhstan, Slovakia Deepen Ties on Climate and Water Cooperation

Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Slovakia, Zhanna Saginova, has held talks with Tomáš Taraba, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Environment of the Slovak Republic, focusing on expanding bilateral collaboration in environmental protection and water resource management.

Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening Kazakhstan–Slovakia cooperation, stressing the need to further develop the legal and contractual framework supporting joint initiatives, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Discussions placed special emphasis on climate change mitigation and adaptation, including the exchange of expertise and best practices.

During the meeting, Saginova formally invited Taraba to take part in the Regional Environmental Summit scheduled for April 22–24 in Astana. The summit is expected to serve as a major international platform for addressing pressing environmental issues and coordinating climate action across Central Asia.

The talks concluded with an agreement to deepen cooperation in the identified priority areas.
