ISLAMABAD: – The Sports Gala held at the scenic tourist destination of Malam Jabba in Swat concluded successfully with colorful and enthusiastic celebrations. The event was jointly organised by the district administration, the Pakistan Army, and the Upper Swat Development Authority, and witnessed vibrant participation from local residents, children, and youth.
According to Saeed ur Rehman, spokesperson for the Upper Swat Development Authority, the primary objectives of the Sports Gala were to engage youth in positive activities, promote tourism in the region, and provide healthy recreational opportunities for the local community. A variety of sports competitions and cultural activities were arranged during the event.
Children presented Naat in praise of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H), national songs, and speeches, which were warmly appreciated by the participants. In addition, a one-kilometre race, tug-of-war, and other exciting sports competitions were organised, where athletes displayed remarkable talent and sportsmanship.
Addressing the gathering, the Additional Assistant Commissioner Charbagh and Assistant Director Technical of the Upper Swat Development Authority, Yousaf Shah, stated that the Pakistan Army, district administration, and Upper Swat Development Authority are jointly undertaking practical measures to promote tourism in the region. They announced that upcoming events such as New Year Night, Snow Festival, and Winter Festival would be organised in the coming days to attract both domestic and international tourists and to create new employment opportunities at the local level.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, cash prizes and shields were distributed among children and players who demonstrated outstanding performance. Participants welcomed such initiatives for the region and expressed hope that similar positive and constructive programs would continue to be organised in the future.
