Pakistan, Russia Ink Deal to Revive Karachi’s Pakistan Steel Mills

 

Moscow – In a major development, Pakistan and Russia have signed a bilateral agreement for the rehabilitation and modernization of Pakistan Steel Mills, one of the country’s key industrial assets located in Karachi.

The protocol was signed at the Embassy of Pakistan in Moscow by Saif Anjum, Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and Production, and Vadim Velichko, General Director of Russia’s Industrial Engineering LLC.

The ceremony was witnessed by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar Khan and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Muhammad Khalid Jamali.

Speaking at the event, Haroon Akhtar said that the revival of the steel mill is a strategic priority and reflects the Prime Minister’s commitment to rebuilding Pakistan’s industrial base. He called the agreement a vital step toward restoring the mill’s operational capacity and ensuring long-term industrial growth.
