Pakistan, Russia Ink Deal to Revive Karachi’s Pakistan Steel Mills

Moscow โ In a major development, Pakistan and Russia have signed a bilateral agreement for the rehabilitation and modernization of Pakistan Steel Mills, one of the countryโs key industrial assets located in Karachi.
The protocol was signed at the Embassy of Pakistan in Moscow by Saif Anjum, Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and Production, and Vadim Velichko, General Director of Russiaโs Industrial Engineering LLC.
The ceremony was witnessed by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar Khan and Pakistanโs Ambassador to Russia, Muhammad Khalid Jamali.
Speaking at the event, Haroon Akhtar said that the revival of the steel mill is a strategic priority and reflects the Prime Ministerโs commitment to rebuilding Pakistanโs industrial base. He called the agreement a vital step toward restoring the millโs operational capacity and ensuring long-term industrial growth.
