The inauguration was attended by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Trade, along with Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan. Jam Kamal Khan formally cut the ribbon to open the exhibition, marking the start of a showcase featuring a broad range of Uzbek products and industrial capabilities.

During a tour of the stalls, the Commerce Minister praised the quality, innovation and export potential of Uzbek products, noting that platforms such as the Made in Uzbekistan Exhibition play a key role in linking businesses, promoting joint ventures and translating strong political ties into tangible economic outcomes.

He stressed that Pakistan places high importance on its relationship with Uzbekistan and is actively working to expand trade through structured mechanisms, including the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA), the Joint Business Council and regular business forums.

Jam Kamal Khan noted that Pakistan-Uzbekistan Business Forums have already resulted in several MoUs and commercial understandings, expressing confidence that the current forum and exhibition would further widen cooperation in sectors such as textiles, leather, food and agriculture, pharmaceuticals, engineering, consumer goods and logistics. He encouraged companies from both countries to explore partnerships, technology exchange and market access opportunities highlighted at the exhibition, which features wide participation from both sides.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating Uzbek trade and transit despite regional connectivity challenges, the Commerce Minister emphasized the need to develop alternative regional trade corridors to ensure uninterrupted commercial flows.

He added that the Made in Uzbekistan Exhibition reflects Uzbekistan’s growing industrial strength and complements Pakistan’s export-oriented industrial base, providing a strong foundation for mutually beneficial trade growth.
