Kyrgyzstan Taps South Korean Technology to Transform Agriculture

Kyrgyzstan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Korea Rural Community Corporation aimed at bringing advanced technologies and new investment into the country’s agricultural sector.

The partnership will introduce South Korean solutions for the sustainable management of Kyrgyzstan’s water and land resources, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

Cooperation will focus on modernizing irrigation systems, developing regional infrastructure, and launching high-tech “smart village” projects designed to raise productivity and improve living standards in rural areas.

The agreement also establishes a legal framework to attract direct investment and financing through Official Development Assistance, supporting long-term collaboration. The Kyrgyz Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry noted that the initiative aligns with the country’s National Development Program through 2026, which emphasizes digitalization and technological modernization of agriculture.
