Tashkent to Host High-Level Central Asia–South Korea Parliamentary Summit

Tashkent will host the third Meeting of the Heads of Parliaments of Central Asian countries and the Republic of Korea from December 15 to 17, according to UzA.
The meeting is intended to advance the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, strengthen inter-parliamentary dialogue, and raise bilateral and regional cooperation to a new qualitative stage.
The plenary session, titled “Cooperation for Human Dignity, Social Justice and Environmental Protection,” will define priority areas for regional cooperation in the near term. The program also includes sessions on “Economic Cooperation, Digital Transformation and Industry: Paths to Regional Prosperity” and “Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection: The Role of Parliaments in Implementing Ecological Initiatives.”
A parliamentary delegation led by Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Woo Won-shik has arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit to attend the meeting. First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Sodiq Safoyev, welcomed the delegation at Tashkent International Airport.
During their stay, members of the South Korean Parliament visited New Uzbekistan Park and laid a wreath at the Independence Monument.
Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar and Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Bakayev held talks with South Korea’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Cho Tae-ik.
