Turkmen Embassy Hosts Golf Tournament to Mark Independence

ISLAMABAD:
The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad, in collaboration with the management of Pines Golf Club, hosted a Friendly Golf Tournament and Gala Reception to celebrate the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence and the 30th anniversary of its Neutrality.
The tournament brought together ambassadors and diplomats from Azerbaijan, Brunei, Poland, Italy, Syria, Japan, Myanmar, Vietnam, alongside seasoned Pakistani golfers. The event, marked by camaraderie and healthy competition, reflected a spirit of friendship and mutual respect.
At the conclusion of the tournament, the Embassy of Turkmenistan presented commemorative prizes and gifts to top-performing players in recognition of their participation.
The sporting event was followed by a Gala Reception, with Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan, Additional Secretary of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the chief guest. The reception was also attended by senior officials, including Ambassador Hasan Ali Zaigham, Director General (Middle East).
Guests praised the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the evening, highlighting the event’s role in strengthening cultural, humanitarian, and diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Turkmenistan.
The embassy noted that the initiative was a reflection of Turkmenistan’s broader leadership policy of promoting positive engagement and fostering a healthy lifestyle through sports diplomacy.
