ECP Denies Baseless Propaganda After Reserved Seats Verdict

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has dismissed recent propaganda against it as unfounded following the Supreme Court’s ruling on the reserved seats case.

The commission described the criticism circulating in media as false and misleading.

It emphasized that all allegations lack factual basis and are part of a deliberate misinformation campaign.

The ECP reaffirmed that it has always conducted its duties strictly according to the Constitution and the law.

The Supreme Court has consistently supported the Election Commission’s stance in various cases.

This includes upholding the commission’s decision on secret ballots during Senate elections.

The Supreme Court also declared the ECP’s actions regarding the Daska election as constitutional.

Additionally, the court endorsed the commission’s interpretation of the PTI intra-party election process.

The ECP highlighted that the Supreme Court upheld its decision to delist APML, along with other parties found in violation of the law.

Furthermore, the Lahore High Court’s decision on Punjab Election Tribunals was rejected, keeping the ECP’s position intact.

The commission stressed that it does not bow to political pressure or public opinion but makes decisions solely based on the Constitution, law, and evidence.

It firmly rejected claims suggesting any bias or influence from political groups.
