Russian President Vladimir Putin held a one-on-one meeting with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov on the sidelines of an informal gathering of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) heads of state, The Caspian Post reported, citing the Kremlin.
At the start of the meeting, Putin said he was pleased to see Japarov in St. Petersburg and noted that the format allowed for a focused discussion of key bilateral issues.
“I look forward to a good, substantive discussion on the development of our trade and economic ties,” Putin said.
He also pointed out that talks held within the framework of the informal EAEU meeting offer an opportunity to exchange views not only on bilateral relations but also on broader economic cooperation within the integration bloc.
