Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Under-21 Games will begin on January 20 in Peshawar, with provincial authorities highlighting the inclusion of transgender sport event as part of broader efforts to promote participation and inclusivity in sports.
Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Tashfeen Haider, stated this while speaking to the media at the Peshawar Sports Complex on Thursday. He said more than 5,000 athletes and officials will take part in the games, which will feature competitions in 35 men’s and 18 women’s sports disciplines. He added that, alongside these events, a separate transgender sport event will also be organized under the provincial sports calendar.
Director Sports Operations Jamshed Baloch, Project Director Arbab Faiz, Chief Coach Shafqatullah, and Administrator Yousaf Afridi were also present at the media briefing.
