Kazakh Ambassador Visits Gujranwala to Boost Academic and Industrial Cooperation

ISLAMABAD – : The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin, paid a working visit to Gujranwala, the country’s third-largest industrial hub, to strengthen academic, economic, and business ties between the two nations.

During the visit, the Ambassador toured the Gujranwala Institute of Future Technologies (GIFT University), where he met with university leadership, faculty, and students. Both sides discussed avenues for future collaboration and highlighted the substantial potential for joint initiatives. Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Kistafin briefed participants on Kazakhstan’s ongoing political and socio-economic reforms, key foreign policy priorities, and progress in Pakistan–Kazakhstan bilateral relations.

The Ambassador also participated in the launch of the “Kazakhstan and Pakistan Growth Window”, a new platform aimed at fostering cooperation and facilitating partnership opportunities.

Later in the day, Ambassador Kistafin met with the leadership and members of the Gujranwala Business Center and joined the inauguration of the “Made in Gujranwala” digital portal, designed to streamline business processes for local manufacturers.

He also visited the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he held discussions with business representatives on investment prospects, Kazakhstan’s business environment, and follow-up actions from the recent delegation of Gujranwala entrepreneurs who visited Kazakhstan. Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation, including participation of local businesses in upcoming embassy-led events and the organization of another trade delegation to Kazakhstan.

Ambassador Kistafin expressed gratitude to Mr. Ahmad Ikram Lon, Chairman of the Gujranwala Business Center, and Mr. Muhammad Anwar Dar, Chairman and Founder of GIFT University, for their support in facilitating the visit.
