FC Kairat Breaks Into IFFHS World Top 500 as Goalkeeper Shines on European Stage

The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has released its latest ranking of the worldโ€™s top 500 football clubs, Qazinform News Agency reports.

Almaty-based FC Kairat secured 240th place in the global standings with 90.75 points, emerging as Kazakhstanโ€™s sole representative on the list. Paris Saint-Germain topped the rankings, followed by Real Madrid in second place and Chelsea of London in third.

 

Earlier reports highlighted another major achievement for the club, as FC Kairat goalkeeper Temirlan Anarbekov surpassed Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappรฉ in SofaScoreโ€™s latest player rankings. The well-known football analytics platform published updated ratings based on player performances after the sixth round of the main stage of the 2025โ€“2026 UEFA Champions League.

Anarbekov topped the overall player rankings after featuring in four matchesโ€”against Pafos, Copenhagen, Olympiacos, and Interโ€”earning an impressive average rating of 8.9 from SofaScore analysts.

Mbappรฉ ranked second with a score of 8.34, followed by Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen in third with 8.33. The top five was completed by Bodรธ/Glimt goalkeeper Nikita Haikin (8.1) and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha (7.92).

Previously, Qazinform News Agency also reported that FC Kairatโ€™s goalkeeper claimed a historic MVP award in a UEFA Champions League match. Amid his standout performances, fans and analysts are increasingly predicting a move to a major European club, particularly as Inter Milan has shown interest in the Kazakh shot-stopper.
