Mohammad Haris Powers Pakistan to T20I Series Whitewash Over Bangladesh

ISLAMABAD: Mohammad Haris smashed a dazzling maiden international century to lead Pakistan to a dominant seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the third and final T20I at Lahoreโ€™s Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.

The win completed a 3-0 series whitewash and marked Pakistanโ€™s first T20I series win at home in over three years.

Haris lit up the stadium with a stunning display of power-hitting, reaching his century off just 45 balls.

His explosive 107-run innings, laced with seven sixes and eight boundaries, helped Pakistan successfully chase down a daunting target of 197 runs in just 17.2 overs. The 23-year-old batter, playing only his 17th T20I, was at the heart of a commanding batting performance that thrilled a packed crowd of nearly 30,000.

Dominant Display With the Bat

After losing opener Sahibzada Farhan for just one run in the first over, Pakistan bounced back quickly through a crucial 92-run partnership between Haris and Saim Ayub.

Ayub played his part with a quickfire 45 off 29 balls, smashing four sixes and two boundaries. The momentum continued with a 60-run unbroken stand between Haris and Salman Agha, who remained unbeaten on 15.

Hasan Nawaz added to the fireworks with a brisk 26 off just 13 balls, ensuring the hosts crossed the finish line in emphatic fashion.

Bangladeshโ€™s Bright Start Falls Short

Earlier, Bangladesh looked strong with the bat as Parvez Hossain blazed 66 off 34 balls, featuring four sixes and seven boundaries.

He shared a 110-run opening stand with Tanzid Hasan, who scored a fluent 42 from 32 balls. This partnership set the foundation for Bangladeshโ€™s highest-ever T20I total against Pakistan โ€” 196 for 6. Contributions from Towhid Hridoy (25) and Litton Das (22) added to the total, but Pakistanโ€™s bowling unit, led by Abbas Afridi (2-26) and Hasan Ali (2-38), ensured that the target remained within reach.

The clean sweep boosts Pakistanโ€™s confidence heading into a busy international calendar, with Haris emerging as a bright new star in the lineup.
