Senior PPP Leader Sehar Kamran Attends Russia’s “Defender of the Fatherland Day” in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD:- Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and Member of the National Assembly, Sehar Kamran, stated that it was a great honor to attend the “Defender of the Fatherland Day” ceremony hosted by the Russian Embassy. The event was attended by the Russian Ambassador, along with high-ranking military and diplomatic figures.

Sharing photos of the event on the social media platform X, Sehar Kamran noted her pleasure in joining Albert P. Khorev, the Russian Ambassador to Pakistan, for the celebration. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Air Vice Marshal Shakeel Ghazanfar (Deputy Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force), while the Russian Defense Attaché, Colonel Vadim N. Fenchenko, and other dignitaries were also in attendance.

Addressing the gathering in Islamabad, Ambassador Khorev emphasized the enduring unity between the military and the people, paying tribute to Russia’s defense history and its struggle to protect national sovereignty. Sehar Kamran remarked that she was deeply moved by the Ambassador’s insights, particularly his messages regarding national security and public solidarity.

She further added that the ceremony highlighted the ongoing diplomatic and defense ties between Pakistan and Russia. According to Kamran, bilateral cooperation between the two nations is vital for regional peace and prosperity. She expressed her commitment to continuing joint efforts to strengthen Pakistan-Russia relations, ensuring that the people of both nations can progress in an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation.

The event saw participation from the diplomatic community, including the Ambassadors of Iran and Uzbekistan, among representatives from various other countries. A key highlight of the evening was a commemorative cake-cutting ceremony by the distinguished guests, serving as a symbol of mutual friendship and collaboration.

“Defender of the Fatherland Day” is celebrated annually in Russia to pay tribute to current and former military personnel. This local celebration in Islamabad reflects the growing diplomatic and defense trajectory between Pakistan and Russia.
