Uzbek President Mirziyoyev Conferred Pakistan’s Highest Civilian Honour

ISLAMABAD:- President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday conferred the Nishan-e-Pakistan, the country’s highest civilian award, on Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in recognition of his outstanding contribution to strengthening bilateral relations and promoting regional cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
The prestigious honour was presented at a special ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad, reflecting the deep-rooted friendship and expanding strategic partnership between the two countries.
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, members of the federal cabinet, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, senior government officials, parliamentarians and members of the diplomatic corps.
Following the award presentation, President Zardari hosted a state banquet in honour of the visiting Uzbek president, reaffirming Pakistan’s warm hospitality and its commitment to further strengthening ties with Uzbekistan.
