Sardar Yasir Ilyas Hails Global Destinations Expo as Milestone for Pakistan’s Tourism
ISLAMABAD:- Special Advisor to the Prime Minister on Tourism, Sardar Yasir Ilyas, hailed the Grand Global Destinations Expo as “an important milestone for Pakistan’s tourism industry” during the closing ceremony at Islamabad’s Marriott Hotel. He presented shields to international delegates and emphasized that events of this scale not only strengthen Pakistan’s tourism sector and enhance its global image but also provide citizens with an opportunity to explore the cultures, traditions, and attractions of countries from around the world.
The two-day expo, organized by Discover Pakistan in collaboration with the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), drew enthusiastic participation from over fifty embassies and foreign delegations. Ambassadors and representatives showcased their national culture, arts, handicrafts, and tourism heritage, while international cuisines offered visitors a taste of global flavors under one roof. The event was inaugurated jointly by Dr. Qaiser Rafiq, CEO of Discover Pakistan, Aftab ur Rehman Rana, MD PTDC, and Romania’s Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Dan Stoenescu, alongside other foreign envoys.
