Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia Seal Trilateral Deal to Boost North–South Transport Corridor

Azerbaijan, Iran, and Russia have signed a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding, marking a major step toward expanding long-term cooperation and improving the efficiency of the western route of the North–South transport corridor.
The agreement outlines the harmonization of tariff policies, the introduction of a unified comprehensive tariff, the launch of regular block train services, and the streamlining of transport procedures.
The implementation of these measures is expected to create a more predictable, faster, and cost-effective logistics chain between Russia, Azerbaijan, and Iran. Overall, the memorandum strengthens the three countries’ positions as reliable players in international transport corridors and supports favorable conditions for sustained growth in regional transit flows.
