Deadly Attack Hits FC HQ in Peshawar; Multiple Casualties Reported

A terrorist attack struck the Federal Constabulary (FC) headquarters in Peshawar’s Saddar area on Monday morning, leaving three FC personnel martyred and several others injured, police confirmed, media reported.

The assault took place shortly after 8am when a suicide bomber, disguised in a chaddor, approached the main gate and detonated himself. As the explosion ripped through the entrance, two more attackers attempted to storm the compound while FC personnel were assembled inside for the start-of-week parade.

Peshawar Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmad said the first blast caused the martyrdom of three FC men and injured two others. The remaining terrorists were immediately shot dead at the gate before they could enter the premises.

The FC headquarters is located in a densely populated area near the cantonment, comprising barracks, residential quarters, and medical units.

An emergency was declared at Lady Reading Hospital and Khyber Teaching Hospital, where 12 injured individuals were brought for treatment.
