Central Asian Leaders to Sign Major Multilateral Deals at Tashkent Summit

TASHKENT: Uzbekistan, A package of multilateral documents is set to be signed at the VII Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State, Trend reports citing the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
The summit will be held on November 15–16 in Tashkent under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to the presidential administration, the gathering will bring together President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhamedov. Kaha Imnadze, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, will also attend.
The agenda will focus on strengthening regional cooperation, advancing joint projects and initiatives in priority sectors, and exchanging views on current regional and international political developments.
The idea of holding regular consultative meetings among Central Asian leaders was initially proposed by President Mirziyoyev at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly in September 2017. Under Uzbekistan’s chairmanship, the initiative has since enabled more than 20 major events across various areas of regional cooperation.
