Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrives on state visit to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD:- Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday for an official state visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Sharif received the Iranian President at Nur Khan Airbase, where the arrival ceremony included a 21-gun salute and a fighter jet flypast. This marks Dr. Pezeshkian’s second official visit to Pakistan since assuming the Iranian presidency.

Several senior Pakistani officials attended the reception, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari. President Pezeshkian is accompanied by a high-level delegation that includes Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and other high-ranking officials. During the visit, President Pezeshkian is scheduled to meet with President Zardari and hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Sharif.

According to a press statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson, Foreign Minister Araghchi arrived at Nur Khan Airbase ahead of the main presidential delegation. Upon his arrival, he was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The state visit follows a history of diplomatic, cultural, and religious ties between the two neighboring nations.
