Turkmen Exchange Logs $6.3m in FX Trades as Afghan, Turkish Buyers Drive Demand

The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan recorded 12 transactions last week, with the total value of foreign currency deals exceeding $6.324 million.

Afghan business representatives were among the main buyers, purchasing carbamide produced by enterprises of the Turkmenhimiya State Concern in foreign currency, underscoring steady regional demand for Turkmen chemical products, The Caspian Post reported, citing Turkmen media.

In a separate transaction, Turkish entrepreneurs bought Portland cement for foreign currency, indicating ongoing export activity in the construction materials sector.

Domestic trading activity also remained strong. Turkmen companies purchased potassium chloride, technical sulfuric acid produced by Turkmenhimiya, and cotton fabric for the domestic market. The total value of these local transactions reached about 333 million manats ($95.045 million).
