Attempt to Overthrow Iranian Government Would Be a Major Mistake: France

French President Emmanuel Macron has warned that any effort to forcibly topple the Iranian government would be a โstrategic mistake.โ His remarks came during a press conference at the G7 summit in Canada, amid growing concerns over the escalating Iran-Israel conflict.
U.S. Offers Ceasefire, Awaits Iranโs Response
According to Macron, the United States has extended a proposal to Iran for a ceasefire and a return to nuclear negotiations. โThe world is now waiting for Iranโs response,โ Macron told reporters. He expressed hope that, if accepted, the offer could pave the way for long-term peace in the Middle East.
Tensions Remain High After Airstrikes
The comments come as violence intensifies. Four days ago, Israeli airstrikes reportedly killed six Iranian nuclear scientists and top military officers. In retaliation, Iran launched heavy attacks on Israeli targets, with casualties reported on both sidesโ24 in Israel and more than 24 in Iran.
Meanwhile, the White House confirmed that President Donald Trump would cut short his participation at the G7 summit due to the worsening situation in the region.
