Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates has expressed deep concern over the escalating developments witnessed across the region in recent days, warning that continued hostilities could push the Middle East into a more dangerous cycle of violence and instability.
In an official statement, the UAE called for an immediate halt to the escalation and urged all parties to exercise maximum restraint to prevent further deterioration of the security situation.
Abu Dhabi stressed the need for a swift return to dialogue and negotiations, emphasizing that diplomacy remains the only sustainable path to preventing wider regional conflict.
The UAE also underlined the importance of maintaining safe and uninterrupted maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, describing the strategic waterway as vital to the global economy, international trade and energy security.
The statement strongly condemned attacks on civilian infrastructure and public facilities, including schools, universities, hospitals, desalination plants, energy installations, transportation hubs and residential areas.
The UAE said targeting such facilities constitutes a grave and flagrant violation of the established principles of international law and cannot be accepted or justified under any circumstances.
