ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif paid a courtesy visit to Sayyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, on Monday to discuss issues of bilateral and regional importance.
The meeting took place in a spirit of mutual respect and cooperation, with key Pakistani officials including Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar also present.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed profound respect for the Supreme Leader, describing him as a guiding figure for the Muslim Ummah.
The prime minister briefed the leader on recent tensions with India, highlighting Indiaโs hegemonic ambitions and aggressive behavior in the region.
He thanked Iran for its unwavering support against Indian aggression and emphasized Pakistanโs desire for peace to foster economic growth and regional prosperity.
Shehbaz Sharif also discussed efforts to elevate Pakistan-Iran relations to new heights, reaffirming his governmentโs commitment to deepen strategic cooperation amid challenging geopolitical circumstances.
He praised the Iranian leadershipโs prudent approach to nuclear negotiations with the United States, expressing hope for a constructive outcome that would contribute to peace and stability in the broader region.
