Uzbek President Mirziyoyev Launches Landmark State Visit to Pakistan

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has arrived in Islamabad on a state visit to Pakistan, marking a significant new phase in the strengthening of bilateral relations.
As the Uzbek leader’s aircraft entered Pakistan’s airspace, it was escorted by Pakistan Air Force fighter jets, highlighting the ceremonial importance of the visit. At Nur Khan Air Base, President Mirziyoyev was received by President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and other senior officials. The welcome included the hoisting of both national flags and a guard of honor, with The Caspian Post reporting via Uzbek media.
The visit features high-level talks with Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces and Field Marshal Asim Munir, alongside negotiations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. A major highlight will be the inaugural meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, introducing a new institutional mechanism to advance bilateral cooperation.
On February 6, President Mirziyoyev is set to meet President Zardari and participate in the Uzbekistan–Pakistan Business Forum, which will bring together top business leaders from both countries to explore fresh avenues in trade, investment, and industrial collaboration.
